Sophia is currently completing her Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship with South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue (SYFR). Her journey shows how an Apprenticeship can help you gain valuable skills while working in a real business environment.
When asked why she chose an Apprenticeship, Sophia explained:
"I wanted to get into the working world while still learning and gaining a qualification."
Sophia praised her Training Assessment Facilitator (TAF), Lynn, for helping her succeed in her studies.
"Lynn has helped me a lot with my assignments. She has shown me how to improve my work by adding more detail and presenting my ideas better."
Her employer, SYFR, played a big part in her development and in the growth of her skills and confidence.
"SYFR is really supportive, and everyone in the organisation is happy to help. I’ve learned so much about how a big organisation runs, beyond just the basics I knew before."
Looking ahead, Sophia is exploring different options for the future.
"After my Apprenticeship, I’m considering a degree Apprenticeship, a job at SYFR, or a role elsewhere."
Looking back on her experience, Sophia feels ready for the next step in her career.
"My Apprenticeship has really helped me. I’m still learning every day, and I’ve been introduced to the workplace in such a positive way."
Sophia’s story is a great example of how an Apprenticeship can help you build confidence, learn new skills, and prepare for the future.
