Meet Samir Ayadi, a Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating based at the Sheffield City Council.
We have recently had a chat with Samir about his Apprenticeship, his journey and his career goals. During our chat, he gave lots of insightful comments and inspiring stories that we had to share with you!
Samir highlighted that the support that he has from the Sheffield City Council is exceptional, from the mentorship to the daily challenges presented while visiting different sites:
“Working for Sheffield City Council is great! The environment is always positive.”
“I’m paired with a qualified gas engineer who guides me on the job, this allows me to learn and develop my skills each day as one job is never the same as the previous.”
The support from his employers, paired with the facilitates at The Sheffield College allows Samir to develop a wide range of skills:
“I have enjoyed using the training centre at The Sheffield College as it gives me a chance to view faults we find on jobs in the real world.”
Samir embraces and appreciates the support he receives from his Training Assessment Facilitators (TAF) and Work-based Learning Assessor (WBA), as they have offered guidance and challenged him to grow:
“I have only positive things to say about my TAF and WBA, they’re constantly teaching me and quizzing me to help me understand and develop my skills.”
Looking to the future, Samir expresses that his Apprenticeship is preparing him to reach his career goals:
“I definitely believe my Apprenticeship has prepared me to get closer to my goal of becoming a fully qualified gas engineer. This is because not only has it helped me education wise, but it has also allowed me to get a feel for the job.”
Samir is a great example of a determined learner on his path to reaching his career aspirations. His journey at The Sheffield College shows not only his dedication but also the invaluable experience he’s gained during his Apprenticeship.
