Lucy-Mae

Lucy-Mae Chance recently completed her Level 3 Digital Marketing Apprenticeship in 2024. Her journey is an example of the opportunities and growth that Apprenticeships can offer.

When asked why she chose to do an Apprenticeship, Lucy-Mae shared, "What really stood out to me about Apprenticeships is that they offer the perfect opportunity to learn on the job while earning a wage."

During her Apprenticeship, Lucy-Mae gained a variety of skills that supported her in her career development. "One of the most important skills I learned was understanding the value of professionalism and proper work manners. This helped me grow in my workplace. Learning how to interpret data and use it for future planning was also crucial and it’s a strategy I use every day."

Lucy-Mae also highlighted the support she received from her tutors. "My tutor was brilliant throughout the course. He was approachable, always ready to listen and made learning enjoyable. He took the time to adapt to our learning styles, which showed he genuinely cared about our progress. We never felt like just another number."

Today, Lucy-Mae works as a Digital Marketing Officer for an ISO Consultancy and Training Provider in Rotherham. "What I love most about my job is that no two days are the same. The diversity of my role is made possible by the digital marketing skills I’ve gained."

Reflecting on her time at The Sheffield College, Lucy-Mae mentioned that her Apprenticeship prepared her for the working world. "The practical skills I learned at the college are the ones I use every day in my job."

Lucy-Mae’s journey showcases how Apprenticeships provide both education and real-world experiences, that have given her the foundations for a successful career.
