Leah Bancroft
Published: 8th January 2026
Leah completed her Hospitality Apprenticeship with Apprenticeship+ back in 2023 at Longbow Venues and is now continuing to grow and climb the ladder within this organisation. She has made incredible progress in the hospitality industry and is now currently employed as a Wedding and Events Supervisor with Longbow Venues. She was promoted the week after finishing her apprenticeship!
Leah says that she felt The Sheffield College was a better option for her than going to Sixth Form as she had previously struggled with school. This decision led Leah to pass her Level 2 qualification in Hospitality with us, and she showed incredible growth throughout her journey. Through this course Leah says that the most important skills she was able to learn were how to deal with customer complaints, how to formally approach and talk to customers, and she developed a great work ethic.
Longbow venues quote that “Her work ethic and enthusiasm is contagious and raises the bar of the whole team working around her.”
We asked Leah how the tutors/staff helped her during her time at The Sheffield College:
“The tutors were all very helpful, they we’re always on hand to answer any questions or concerns that I had. The teachers were always nice and approachable.”
Leah’s favourite part about her job now is being able to manage staff and run weddings!
Upon finishing her apprenticeship Leah also won Apprentice of the Year in November 2023 at the East Midlands Business Awards which is an incredible achievement. There is no doubt that Leah will continue to make a positive impact and inspire many other ambitious apprentices.
