The typical duration for this Apprenticeship is three years but this will depend upon the previous experience of the apprentice and access to opportunities to gain the full range of competence.
How does it work?
Attending Sheffield college 1 day a week, Studying a Level 3 Diploma in Civil Engineering for 2 years and working towards an End Point Assessment in year 3.
Content
The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Civil Engineering and the Built Environment is intended as a Tech Level qualification. It allows learners to develop a substantial core of knowledge, to study in depth a full range of optional units, and to develop the broader skills highly valued by higher education institutions.
Assessment
The Level 3 Diploma assessment has both examinations and assignments, to show a relevant level of learning has taken place over the 2 years.
Qualification
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Civil Engineering
Additional qualifications
English and Maths will at Level 2 will need to be achieved before taking the end point assessment and will be included in the Level 3 qualification.
Review
The apprenticeship will be reviewed after a maximum of 3 years.
